The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) is an independent examinations body established by University of Lagos after approval was given by Federal Ministry of Education, Nigeria in December 2013 to establish an examination body. The body which formerly took off with consortium of ten partner universities and JAMB as partners is saddled with the responsibility of conducting qualitative examinations for candidates seeking Direct Entry admissions into tertiary institutions.
In line with the guidelines of the Board, the Governing Board of JUPEB hereby notifies the Partner Universities that the Board has commenced the process of appointing a new Registrar/ Chief Executive Officer of the Board. Applications are, hereby invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates for the position.
THE POSITION
The Registrar/ Chief Executive Officer is the Principal Officer responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Board and reports directly to the JUPEB Governing Board. The Registrar/ Chief Executive Officer works directly with the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos who is the Chairman of the Board.
The Registrar/CEO must pursue the realization of the JUPEB’s Vision and Mission.
For the post, the Board seeks candidates with vision, proven academic distinction, managerial ability, integrity and transparency in private and public life. The right candidate should also have the ability to improve on the standard of conduct of examinations of the Board.
He/She should be able to command respect and engender the cooperation and loyalty of Partner and Affiliate universities, JUPEB staff and candidates sitting for JUPEB examination as well as being able to work with JAMB and other external organs linked to JUPEB.

An eligible candidate for the post of Registrar/ CEO of JUPEB must be:
TENURE
The successful candidate shall hold office for a single term of four (4) years from May 1, 2024 on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.
SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The remuneration and other conditions of service are comparable to the post of a Registrar/CEO of comparable examination bodies and as may be determined from time to time by the Governing Board as appropriate.
